Default cbm 170 and cmt 340 questions

I wrote up this whole topic and decided to delete it, so instead I'm just going to ask this: does anyone else think the 340's sound different than the 170's? In specific overall clarity and highs?

Their off-axis roll-offs are a bit different, especially at 15 degrees, with the 340's having less roll-off, so they seem a bit more clear in the highs.

that's funny b/c I feel like the 340 is slightly less clear in the vocal range and highs, just seems more laid back- the 170's appear to have more clearly stated highs- but perhaps that is because they lack the oomf that the 340 seemlessly produces.

the spectral decay appears to be better on the 170, as well it does not have a dip in the 2-3k range on the FR graph- im just curious if anyone noticed audible differences favoring the 170; perhaps I need to setup an actual a-b comparison and sit down for a while

If you have more reflections in your room, then I can see the wide dispersion of the 340's may be an issue, and seem less clear.
