Opinions: Sherwood CD-980T

Anyone have any experience with this CD player?

Multi channel really isn't a viable option for me. I also don't know if this would be a noticeable improvement over my Toshiba DVD player.
Thoughts?

Sorry...don't know much about it, although having Burr-Brown DACs certainly looks good.

I know that Sherwood OEMs to other companies, so it would not surprise me if this player is the same as another one that is out there. That doesn't really help you though.

Yep. Their using the BB DAC's as bait. I was curious as to whether the rest of the unit was comparable. The MSRP is $499. It's been offered recently by J & R for $249., then, 199. and now 169. I'll be patient and see if the trend continues. If it takes another dive in price, I might take the bait.
I'll also look to see if someone is rebadging this unit. That might provide more info than the skimmpy amount of info being offered by Sherwood.
