    Default RIP - Paul Di'Anno

Heard that Paul passed away a few weeks ago.

For those who don't know who he was, he was the original lead singer for Iron Maiden - on their first, self-titled release and the Killers LP. My favorite Maiden LPs. He also did a lot of solo stuff after Maiden.

I was lucky enough to see him w/ Maiden live a couple of times.

Yep - also read this. While I have always preferred Bruce Dickinson, Di'Anno had a unique mellow voice and Killers is easily one of Maiden's best. For my tastes, Powerslave is Maiden's best work.

Powerslave is an excellent album too.

I like Bruce, as well. He's a great singer for both Maiden and his previous band, Samson.
