To the comment of hearing it vs feeling it. Have you felt "it"? You loved your friend's SVS setup, I would be surprised if he didn't play a demo where you felt it. Most may say they don't "need" subsonic effects, but I guarantee if they had a choice, they would love having the capability.

That said, REL told you -6 dB at 22 Hz. Same as what's on their website. That's a lot of lost output, IMO. Similarly, lo and behold, no frequency sweeps - so where's the -3 dB point? I recall on another forum someone posting REW sweeps of their RELs and it was like an upside down U in how fast the bass dropped, with the top of the U around 50 or so hz. Would like hear one to see how much that impacts music.
