Quick question. Why does the previous SE have a lower anechoic frequency response than the SE2?
I'm actually interested in this, the 340 is a better speaker than people give it credit for.
It still has that nice but Bright at high volume tweeter...and I listen there... it's my Center, so I don't hear up much in Multi channel listening, once in awhile it sticks it's nose out there, but the 340se is pretty mint.
The SE2 IS worth looking at for sure .
This speaker is designed to be used with a subwoofer. LF extension beyond a certain point does not bring any additional benefit to the table. Alternatively, trade-offs were made in favor of improved sensitivity. If you are using it with a subwoofer... that's a good thing!
I had owned CMT-340 SE and SE2, didn't make an upgrade.. Gave my 340s to my friend, missed them so much for music, had to order the SE2.. Have enjoyed music like never before.. Feel there is considerable difference in mids and highs.. I couldn't feel the LF extension as I always used it with a subwoofer.
With Rythmik LVF12 (got the ported one) this is a deadly combo.. With a marantz processor and decent amp, I'm pretty much settled on my 2 channel setup. I have used them in home theater setup also, they are quite awesome..
No complaints at all..
