    Yup...fully sheilded. I think the 340's may be easier to get than the 170's right now. I have all three of them up front, and have no complaints. Give Ascend a call.

    I cannot find these 340 L/R on Asecend's website. I can only find the 340C. Where are they? How do I find out info on them? Are these newer than the CBM-170s? Better?

    Michael,

    The 340l/r's are Ascend's newest offering. Not on the website yet due to inventory control. The cabinet and drivers are the same as the center version with a small difference in the crossover. They are available via a phone call.

    I have them and recently compared them with pairs of speakers costing up to 3 times as much. They held their own! A great value.

    Thanks Curtis. So, the driver array is the same? Tweet flanked by the two midbass drivers? I wonder how that affects imaging and soundstage? [?]

    yes....and remember the l/r version stands vertical. The tweeter's orientation is rotated 90 degrees, and the EXBAC circuit is defeated.

    The dispursion is wide, I think imaging and soundstage are excellent.
