Don't know about the other brands, but what's cool about the HK 1005 (digital HK AVR), is that you can xover all the analog 5.1 channels too (SACD/DVDA).
My Sony STR-DA1ES has that capability. Surprisingly, my Denon 3803 does not!
Feel Free to visit my website:

Equipment List:
Hitachi 57F59 HD CRT RPTV
Outlaw 990/7125 PrePro/Amp
Panasonic BD10 Blu-Ray Player
Mains: Ascend CMT-340M
Center: Ascend CMT-340C
Surrounds: Ascend CBM-170
Sub: SVS 25-31PC
That's a nice feature on the 1005 for SACD/DVDA...did I hear the 630 had this also but not the 635?
Didn't know any of the Sony's had this feature either. Strange that so few are offering this capability.![]()

I think the theory is that any universal player worth its cost would do the base management, rendering that feature in a receiver redundant. Sure wish my 635 did it though, cause the bass management in my player sucks :-(Originally Posted by chas
