Default Help! Speaker surround cracking on CBM-170SE and CMT-340SE

    Hey everyone,

I just took the speaker covers off my CBM-170SEs and CMT-340SE that I've had for over a decade. I noticed that on several speakers, the woofer surround has split (see pictures)

Does anyone know how to fix this? I absolutely love these speakers and would love to repair them if possible. I also live in Orange County so maybe I could bring them back to Ascend for them to repair it? Wondering if anyone here has had this issue before.

    Thanks!

Email or call Ascend. Dave/Dina should be able to help you out.

Please give us a call at the office, we do have replacements woofers available. You cold try gluing this with contact cement, but from a performance standpoint - the woofers should be replaced.

We would not be able to provide a reason as to why this happened without directly evaluating the woofers. Sometimes corrosives in the air will cause this to happen over many, many years (salty air etc.)
