Some ELX Tower questions

I just took delivery of 2 (that's right, TWO, on the SAME truck) ELX Ribbon Tower speakers.

The only question about what happens at my house tonight has nothing to do with what, but for how long!

I guess it's time for me to add a signature - I see from yours that you have a Soundsmith Paula - I have a Norma, myself - awesome cartridge, which Peter recommended because I had a full conrad-johnson phono stage, preamp & power amp system. The preamp is the only piece from the original setup that remains, unfortunately...

Yes, currently running the Paua. Got it brand new a few years ago from someone on the old VPI forum for around 1/2 retail price. I also have a Carmen and VAS Nova HW special. I've been considering making the leap to the Hyperion but no extra funds at the moment due to construction and wife projects, although there are a couple of used ones on one of the AV equipment sale sites that are (somewhat) reasonably priced. The other item that caught my interest is the new Manley Oasis phono stage (Chinook replacement). All in all, though, I turn 60 later this month and am probably getting to the point of diminishing returns on audio upgrades as my hearing isn't what it used to be.

I turned 65 a few months ago, so I understand the concerns. Still my Airpods hearing test says I have no hearing loss, even if I fake my DoB to tell it I'm 18, so I'm not worried yet. I probably DO have hearing loss, because for many years I got a headache from sound levels that don't seem to bother others - I still do, but I don't think it's as much so as it once was. So, I'm fortunate in that regard.

What are your thoughts on them? I placed my order last week and it will be a month or 2 before I get mine. Everything I have read online has been extremely positive and that they outclass anything at their price point and above. I'm curious on your thoughts on them as well!

I don't know if you had the unusual combination of time & patience required to read my "initial thoughts" or not, but my TLDR summary after a very rough setup process is: I've found my "endgame" speakers.
