To the comment of hearing it vs feeling it. Have you felt "it"? You loved your friend's SVS setup, I would be surprised if he didn't play a demo where you felt it. Most may say they don't "need" subsonic effects, but I guarantee if they had a choice, they would love having the capability.
    Agree with Curtis 100%.

That said, REL told you -6 dB at 22 Hz. Same as what's on their website. That's a lot of lost output, IMO. Similarly, lo and behold, no frequency sweeps - so where's the -3 dB point? I recall on another forum someone posting REW sweeps of their RELs and it was like an upside down U in how fast the bass dropped, with the top of the U around 50 or so hz. Would like hear one to see how much that impacts music.

If you want to play the specs game, the Rythmik L12 is -3db at 18hz and -6db at 12hz, and is 16 lbs heavier than the Rel (so something about it is beefier). FR measurements are provided on their site.
Also, it is $629 -$709 depending on finish.

Your original choice of the FVX15 will blow them both out of water, and better for your big space.

If the biggest criteria is availability, you'll have to check.

Yes I talked with the local Anthem dealer and he was talking about the current Anthem sale. He also mentioned the current Paradigm premiere speaker sale which is interesting for me since I have been looking at the floor standing speakers 800F and 500C center speaker. He made it sound like he could give me a good deal. If I go with the AVM 70 I would need an amplifier and Emotiva is having a sale on their XPA5 which would be a better price than Buckeye amps. I need to hear the AVM70 to see if I can hear any fan noise. My setup is an open Salamander av stand with no doors so any fan noise would be evident. So many options

You won't hear the fan, but come down to the Los Angeles area and you are more than welcome to try and hear the fan in mine.

I can't recommend Emotiva, I would steer you toward Monoprice Monolith (they are made by ATI) in that case.

I agree on Monoprice as an option over Emotiva. From personal experience, Emotiva is unethical. Similarly, at least in the case of their processors, incompetent and fail to deliver on promises.

As mentioned on the same AVS post, other amps to consider are Outlaw Audio, Buckeye, VTV, etc. If you want cheap, you could consider a pro amp like one from Crown.

I see some low cost amps in ToneWinner (SummitHifiUSA) / OSD Audio.. Do you have an opinion on those?

Tonewinner. I think they made amps for Emotiva years ago (the original upa and xpa series). Not sure if they still do. I had a upa2 and upa7 at one time. Really good amps. That said, the Tonewinners look solid, too. I’d consider one too
