Just my two cents, but I think you are putting too much emphasis on the fan noise, as I don' think many people experience it. People give opinions a lot more on negative issues than positive...especially online.

You may be right but the YouTube AV reviewer Andrew Robinson reviewed the 1140 mrx and one of his complaints besides no on screen display was the fan noise. He felt it was too loud and irritating. I don’t want to have to return the receiver if I hear it. I am sure it’s a good machine but don’t want to take the risk

Other then my 2 cents...it will be awesome.

PS: If you don't luck out on BF....consider Marantz's recertificated or outlet shop...both D&M have this option.
Yeah I’m sure people will say that I should be spending 80% for speakers and 20% for processors but I went 50-50. Thanks for suggesting looking into outlet. From what I’ve seen Denons go on sale but I haven’t seen any Marantz on sale so I don’t expect any savings for Black Friday

Over the past few yrs I've gone from Yamaha, Denon, Anthem, Marantz and back to Denon....reason features....sonically very little to discern. I will say this my MRX...had the lowest per watts rating but never broke a sweat....honestly...I loved ARC REQ. Just bought the 3800h this year...so I guess I like Denons plug n play....reliably.

    Nice selection of equipment

I do have same 2 cents as Billy p regarding relative budgets. That said, S1 are great and, if the urge hits, you could always upgrade them.

I also agree with Curtis, re Anthem fan noise and how the relative few with the issue make the most noise on the internet. Same goes with many other products. Anthem did issue a firmware update, as I recall, that addressed this. Plus, Anthem’s core market is really the dealer/custom installer channel, whose customers tend to have their equipment in a closet/other room and controlled by Control4 (I think this is the brand) or something similar. Applies also to OSD - Anthem has 1 (and one can set as basic or more detail, albeit not as detailed as the mass market brands). Not trying to change your mind on the cinema 30 but do want to re-emphasize these are really non-issues. Plus, you’d need to go to the 90 for four independent sub outs as far as I recall, which means more spend for amps and processor (although with 20% sale and the right dealer, the 90 can be had for not much more than the price of the 30 Curtis quoted above)

Don’t get me started on Andrew Robinson. I’m not particularly impressed with his reviews.

Too funny. I feel the same way, but I watch his videos for entertainment and to see if he will say something that I think is meaningful on the products that interest me. Also, the "conversation" he has with his significant other, and the fact that she is behind the camera, intrigues me.

I concur about the conversation between him and his significant other and it’s intriguing that they never show her in front of the camera.

Aside from the Cinema 30's color choices, the Denon AVR-X4800H has similar features, including four independent sub outs, good power (125W), is also made in Japan, and can be had on sale for $1500 (if not less). Just throwing that out there for budget considerations.

I agree that it would be a good choice but doing a deeper research the internal components are more flagship level such as a toroidal transformer, bigger heat sinks, etc. I am almost 70 and there are some things I wanted to splurge on. I purchased my last car a year ago and I was choosing between a Toyota and a Lexus and decided to get the Lexus. I liked the higher end materials and comfort. Yes both are good options but I wanted the higher end materials Thanks for the suggestion though. I’m still researching subwoofers again. So many options
