    Default Horizon placement

    I have sierra towers and horizon center channel. Can you place a UST projector on top of the center. Having trouble finding a cabinet that will house the Horizon center.

    I think so. I've seen some place TVs on top of their center.
    * LG OLED65E6P, BenqHT2050A
    * Anthem AVM90, Rogue ST100, VTV Pascal 7 ch
    * Sierra Towers/Horizon (all ELX RAAL), S2EXv2 surrounds, HTM200SEx4 heights, Rythmik E15HPx2
    * VPI Classic 1+ (VTA & Fatboy Gimbal), PE Eagle/RR, VAS NOVA, Soundsmith Paua, Manley Chinook, Bob's Devices SUT, SugarCube 1 mini
    * Oppo 203 & 103D, EverSolo DMP-A6
    * miniDSP Flex, Audiosensibility & Blue Jeans cables, Symposium & Isoacoustics, GIK
    * For RDJ: Anthem MRX720, Sierra LX, Luna Duo v2 center, CXNv2, TBD

    Absolutely, no issues at all. Just place a thin pad, like felt or similar in between to protect the finish of the speaker and protect from heat produced by the projector, depending if heat exhausts from the bottom or rear of the projector.

    Hope this helps!

    Why would speakers behind an acoustically transparent screen be considered "sub-optimal"?

    That's how the best theaters are built, and that's how your local IMAX operates. You don't notice the center below the screen in a commercial theater, do you?

    I'd plan the setup around it. Acoustically transparent screen, three identical front-stage speakers, all three behind the screen as far apart as possible and toed in toward MLP.

    Then, ceiling mount your UST above your screen in the optimal position.
