    Default CBM-170 torn woofers

    Good afternoon! Last night I pulled a pair of original CBM-170s out of storage, and noted each woofer had a roughly 1cm tear, in different spots (see pix below).

    Just wanted to get thoughts on ability to repair/replace the woofers, overall prognosis, etc.? Honestly I can't notice any distortion at this point, nothing obvious, driving with a Denon receiver.

    I'm guessing a pretty easy repair to replace the woofers if you want, assuming Ascend is still using same ones.
    * LG OLED65E6P, BenqHT2050A
    * Anthem AVM90, Rogue ST100, VTV Pascal 7 ch
    * Sierra Towers/Horizon (all ELX RAAL), S2EXv2 surrounds, HTM200SEx4 heights, Rythmik E15HPx2
    * VPI Classic 1+ (VTA & Fatboy Gimbal), PE Eagle/RR, VAS NOVA, Soundsmith Paua, Manley Chinook, Bob's Devices SUT, SugarCube 1 mini
    * Oppo 203 & 103D, EverSolo DMP-A6
    * miniDSP Flex, Audiosensibility & Blue Jeans cables, Symposium & Isoacoustics, GIK
    * For RDJ: Anthem MRX720, Sierra LX, Luna Duo v2 center, CXNv2, TBD

    Believe me, those are pretty tough...I've beat those mercilessly, and I've never seen this.
    I've had them for 20 years, with good and bad amps. What are you driving them with?

    Just call Ascend and you can get another one at a decent price.
    I'd put fingernail polish on the slit and be done with it personally.
