Default Titan Dome and Beryllium Dome

    Dave (or all),

Any thoughts regarding comparison of the new Titan Dome tweeter to Revel's beryllium dome?

    Thanks as always,

    Steve

They are more similar than different... The Be dome pushes the breakup mode on the Revel up to about 33kHz (that is the real advantage of Be), while on the Titan dome, the breakup mode is ~27kHz, still well out of the range of human audibility. The Titan dome has the advantage of significantly higher power handling. Both have excellent directivity but the Be dome requires the dispersion lens and waveguide while the Titan dome has remarkable directivity without requiring anything.

I have listened to both extensively, I honestly can't say one sounds better than the other. The Titan dome is incredibly smooth and non-fatiguing, with nice warmth, excellent transparency, extremely low distortion and effortless dynamics. It is a shockingly great dome tweeter.
