    Default I'm drinking the kool-aid

New owner of a pair of gloss black Sierra-1's for the bedroom system. They replaced Era 5's (now Peachtree). Both speakers cost relatively the same even though the Sierra is 20% or so larger. I am breaking them in streaming music through my Squeezebox powered by a Cambridge 540A Azur for now. From the first track they sounded better than the Era 5 pair and even listening casually the Sierra's seem to be more effortless, dynamic, and detailed. Once they are broken in I'll set them up in my main system and compare them to the Lorelei's (floorstanders from Odyssey). Who knows, I may be a player for the Tower's down the road. Oh, I bought B stock but they are flawless!

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Sierra-1's. They are a great speaker.

Are you running them full range or do you have a sub? I have run them full range through my Marantz SR6003 in pure direct, no sub, and they sound awesome! The Rythmik 12" servo sub I have does help them with the very low stuff, and remains invisible until called upon.

I have heard the D5's in my room and pretty much concur with your thoughts.

No sub, Magneato. I have read many good things about Rythmik on this site but will probably forgo using a sub and use full range but will likely sell the Azur and go with a Peachtree Nova or Arte Forma Emily or something similar that has digital inputs and is reasonably priced ruling out NAD M2 or Naim for instance.

Being from the OC and having family down there, I'm going to have to demo a nice setup from one of you fine gentlemen next time we go down to visit. I would love to hear a setup with these with a listening distance of about 10-12ft to the listener. These would be too cool in a 5.2 setup or something.
