Default What 12awg for Sierra L/R/C...and what Sub cable??

I think i'm going with locking banana plugs from bluejeans cable....they got a good review on another forum.

But for cables....i just can't decide.....and i only want to order them once.

    I know that I want 12awg.....i'm going from Yamaha RX-V633 to Ascend Sierra-1's (L/R/C).

Also....i'm not sure what Sub cable to get...also unsure on connectors for it.
Again, i'm going from Yamaha RX-V633 to SVS PB13-Ultra.

I'm thinking maximum length for speaker cables would be 10-12 feet.
    .. .. .. .. .. for sub cable would be 20ft.

If there is a suggested length with any of these...feel free to let me know that.
    ___________
I''m basically looking for a few people to link me to the right cables and connectors that i'll need to finish this up.
    ___________
    Thanks guys.

Check monoprice.com. Compare their prices with Blue Jeans. BJ is good stuff and I planned to buy from them, but they were just so much more than monoprice. I did all my cabling with their stuff, including a 25' sub cable and 250' of speaker cable. I also bought a 20' HDMI and a 20' component to run to my projector. They work great!

I needed a short HDMI cable to run from the just installed sat box. Went to Wally World. The cheapest they had was $20 and it was longer than I wanted. Went home and ordered from monoprice just the length I needed and paid $4. It was at my house two days later.

i have noticed that monoprice is a bit cheaper.

specifically....what cable (12awg) from them to you recommend.

and the sub cable is also a question. is there a specific one that you could link me to??

    thanks.

    Matt,

Here's the link to the subwoofer cable:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Notice the price. It has quality connectors and works fine. There's absolutely no hum, the thing I feared when setting up such a long run.

I actually ordered this cable for the home theater:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

There is a 10x 13 storage room adjacent to the home theter. I mounted an equipment rack between the two. Speaker wires run from wall plates at the front of the HT, through conduit up to above the suspended ceiling over to the storage closet. The mains have double runs for bi-wiring. That's why I used up 250'! I ran 14 gauge black low voltage wire bought at the home center from the wall plugs to the speakers.

This may be more what you're looking for:

if you go with monoprice, i'd spring an extra $.02 and get this sub cable instead:

i too use a lot of monoprice cables in my system (analog audio, toslink, hdmi, component video) and i have been very happy with them

I'm surprised that Blue Jeans Cable hasn't been mentioned. I have some of their 12-gauge 5000UE which is a nice, no-frills cable http://bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm

They also make good sub cables. I have many cables that use the same materials (that I assembled myself) and they have served me well for both interconnects and subwoofer cable - http://bluejeanscable.com/store/subwoofer/index.htm

It's not as cheap as Monoprice, but you know exactly what you're getting and the quality of the construction/parts (not that Monoprice is bad, but you know less about the items).

I have used the same Blue Jeans interconnects/sub cables for 5 years now.

For speaker, I made my own using Canare 4S11 cable.
