    Default Crossover Suggestions

    Long time Ascend owner with new components added in support of a pair of Ascend 170 classics and a new flat screen Samsung 5054. music versus home theater usage is about 70/30.

    New items:

    Ascend 200 SE for the center
    HSU STF-1 subwoofer connected via LFE "out" selected for receiver control, and nearfield placement.
    (No surrounds for now)
    Yamaha RX-V459 (6.1 90 watts x 6) with these crossover choices:
    40 60 80 90 100 110 120 160 200Hz

    The HSU has not been turned up yet (sub cable shipping delay). Not sure where to set the crossover in this setup, receiver default is 80Hz. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Not sure why calibrating the speakers would have been tricky, but for where to set the crossover, try different settings to see what sounds best to you.
