    yes...they are the same.

The attach to the stands via a back plate that attaches via a single thread insert on the lower/back of the 340, that plate also attaches to the stand. I use that same insert(it is on all 340's) to fasten the speakers to the stands I had made.

Cool, thanks. I'm just trying to figure out of I could put together some speaker stands on my own to save some cash. The sooner I get some Ascends the better.

I'd spring for the 340 L/R over the 170s too if you can swing it Clutchbrake. As you'll see saturday, the 340 disperses the sound quite a bit better. On songs that (usually briefly) use just one channel (either front L or front R), you can really localize the sound to the 170 box. With two going though, the sound disperses nicely with the 170s. However, one 340 seems to spread the sound everywhere.

No doubt, I'm getting the 340 L/R/C. I'm getting the 200 surrounds though. The way my room is set up mounting the 170s away from the wall would be hideous.

My wife is not happy with the location of my 200s right now. Our project to mount the 200's on the back wall with omnimounts failed so i have em sitting on my old advent stands. I'm completely ignorant with carpendry, but we hit some really tough wood beam in the wall that would not let us drill the stud further and to adequate depth.

I plan to use some "D rings" to flush mount them.
