    Got to Radio Shack or some electronics/audio shop, pick up a cheap one, and compare them. My guess is you will not hear a difference.

    The two optical cables I use...one for my DirecTiVo box, and the other for my Pioneer 563a universal disc player, I do not think I spend more than $15 a piece on.
