Default Hey, Jason!! Let's smoke one out of your bag.

I'll save the comments as the article speaks for itself. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...at-7-2005.html

It appears to be. Controversial for sure. The editor at Secrets is taking a few hits for allowing the review but felt the author deserved having the article printed. Merigo is offering a 30 day money back trial so they must be reasonably confident that the product will prove itself.

I have to admit THIS PRODUCT REALLY WORKS.
I stuffed one in my mouth and auditioned for "American Idol".
I didn't make the finals, but I snagged a contract with Sony
    music all the same.

My favorite part of this review (and what really sends it over the
top) is the authors description of his crappy-beyond-belief video
system, and how the mat transformed it into 3-D holographic
    lush eye candy bliss.

Almost $200? This reminds me of the 80's when gold CDs supposedly sounded better than the regular ones (which were micro thin alumimum). Conspicuously lacking is any scientific measurement of the effect this product has on anything. The reviewer claims this product affects the digital transfer, HUH? How so? This product looks like what some of my high school friends called "a tab". I think it might be. Show me the numbers.

Chalk it up to "psycho-acoustical/video" improvement. Good gosh!

I'm actually a bit bummed out that hometheaterhifi published this sh-t. I was starting to respect their site on the basis of what I feel are quite rigorous and scientific evaluations of DVD players. Obviously that rigor doesn't extend to all of their reviews. I'm starting to think that outside of "the audio critic" (now in the form of a webzine), there are very few trustworthy sources of information on the web.

I totally agree. HomeTheaterHiFi, IMO, was one of the more respectable audio information sites. The other I really like is the SoundStage Network. There are others that I have no respect for at all.

well i could not resist past all of this hype and simply had to experiment with some geometric shapes i had around the house...

these babies are CNC cut to spec...

let's see what affect these magic snowflakes had on two different pieces of audio equipment i own...

my dvd player - still played as normal, but i was not able to detect a difference

my guitar - unplayable, required tape which would decrease the amount of surface area covered on the soundboard among other things

sure am glad i didn't spend $199 on that. it looked promising.
