New Website is Live - please be patient - there might be downtime.
I know, been a very VERY long time coming (8 years I believe) but I am happy to announce our new website is now fully live.
I am quite pleased so far, it is quick, modern, easy to navigate, mobile device friendly, and highly secure.
It will likely be a few days before our domain name points to the new site, it is a complicated process for us due to this forum and our email provider and we are trying to avoid downtime. I am waiting to hear back from an expert on this.
In the meantime, the new site is fully live, secure and ready to take orders. Many of you will find some of the pics you have posted on this forum or emailed me over the years in the customer gallery (tons more to add to it too)
As always, your feedback is welcomed and encouraged!
Anyone here familiar with vBulletin? We need the this forum to have a similar look and feel and new menu that matches the new site.
Enjoy!

The New Site Looks Great Dave!!!
Clean layout, user friendly interface, quick navigation, logical informational flow and attractive page arrangements! Very up-to-date website that will assist new owners in their reference speaker needs!
Alas, the old site served Ascend Acoustics well...will be somewhat missed and never forgotten!!
FWIW tried to log in, but e-mail/password is not recognized...do I have to create a new account?

Agree - the new site looks great.
I didn't see the Sierra LX on the new site or the Sierra 2 (are you dropping the 2?).

Looking good!
Do you have plans to incorporate the newer Klippel spins for the speakers you've measured?

Dave I think the new site looks great! Much more modern and easy to navigate.

Re: New Website is Live - please be patient - there might be downtime.
Looks great!
side note: The 340SE's are still less than $600/pr. I still think that is the best bang for the buck in Ascend's line-up!

This forum database and the customer database at the new site are separate, and must be for PCI compliance. Establishing an account at the new site is recommended when placing an order, but isn't required.

Absolutely, starting with the LX - which will be added to the new site this weekend.

I feel the same way, the old site has been our home for over 20 years. The new site will save us quite a bit of time with billing / invoice / shipping, freeing up much of Dina's time so she can spend more time with our customers on the phone ( a good thing ). It also has major benefits for the overall customer experience when placing orders and then tracking those orders.

Of course I immediately navigated to one of the photo galleries to see which of my images you used! :p
You have lots of great looking systems in the galleries! Great looking images all over, and I really like the drop down tabs at the top. They actually drop down and let you select the links in the menus instead of taking you to another page like the SVS site does.
I'm still flipping through it but everything seems to be working right. Another plus is it looks good in night mode. I exclusively use it and some sites are wonky in night mode.

Looks like the DNS change has propagated. Love the look of the new site!

Yes, that was much faster than I anticipated and this forum and our email were (thankfully) not interrupted.
Now we have to change the look and links on this forum, but I'll likely take a much needed break first.
This website project literally took years. We started a long time ago, and had a new site just about ready to go live using Magento. But then Magento had a major update and if we had updated, all of our customizations would have been lost - and this would have happened for each update.
The company we hired for the new site then wanted a ton more $$$ to handle the update as it was far too complex for me. It was at that point I decided to cut our losses and realized Magento was NOT the right platform for us. At considerable cost to us, we completely scrapped that site and started fresh with a new website company to build a new site using Shopify.
Of course, that was when Covid hit and shut everything down here in Southern California...
Big learning curve for me, but so far I am quite pleased with the Shopify platform and our new site.

Hi Robert, we are in the process of adding the LX to the site (likely by tomorrow evening or so). Regarding Sierra-2, I don't think it makes much sense to keep the S2 in our lineup, the 2EX is the better speaker.

Re: New Website is Live - please be patient - there might be downtime.
Thanks, Dave. I agree that it doesn't make sense to keep the S2 in the line-up either.
Best

will the new site allow full res pictures to be posted versus having to downsize them currently?

Re: New Website is Live - please be patient - there might be downtime.
Well, I was out of town for a long Easter weekend and did not have time to really look at this forum and check out the new website. It looks really nice Dave! Congrats on finally bringing it to life!!

I was hoping to see mine there too, but I think I need to send it in again for Dave. :D

I am not sure I understand. Please clarify for me, thanks!

Sure! When I take a picture with my iPhone and try to upload the picture to the site (again using my phone) I always get An error indicating the file size is too big. So I then email the pic to myself and choose to downsize it in order to meet the requirements, then upload the new smaller (resolution) pic.

Ah, so you are referring to this forum. The main site and this forum are completely separate, the only thing we will be changing on this forum is the overall look to make it look more like the main site, including the menu.
This forum already takes up a HUGE amount of server space, thus the requirement to limit file sizes. If everyone simply uploaded photos from their phone the database would be too large and we would either have to charge a fee for forum membership (not going to happen) or we would have to shut it down.

Got it! Some forums must automatically resize photos because normally I don’t need to take the extra step to resize…again, no big deal:).

Absolutely! I believe I posted my findings on avs as well and did not need to resize. Good luck:)
