Hi All
Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive switching/sequencing 20AMP power distibutor that I can use for my amps? I don't need any conditioning or surge supression, so I'm not looking at the Monster or Panamax units. I basically just need something that allows me to turn on my amps using another component as the "trigger." My amps don't have a 12V trigger. Basically, something like a power strip with sequencing. I'd like to get away for under $100

Do a google for the Xantech AC-1. Not sure if it is rated for 20amps though.
As for low cost...take a look at the Craftsman Auto Switch for $19.99. I think it will do what you are wanting to do. I'm not sure of the amperage rating tho.
They talk of switching on a shop dust collection system so I think it will probably switch 20 amps.

There are very few products in general that are actually 20A rated since it requires a different outlet (one prong is rotated 90 degrees). A standard outlet can only be rated to 15A.
What amps do you have? I highly doubt a 20A rated switcher is actually required.
I ordered that Crafstman switcher - their website doesn't specify amperage, so we'll see, but I think you're right, if it's switching on a saw or something and then a dust collector, it's probably enough for a few amps.
I'm running 3 Alto Macro's one is rated at 450W/Channel another at 310W/PC the 3rd is rated at 205W/Channel. The 310 is powering the mains, the 450 will be powering 2 Avalanche 18" subwoofers in an IB, and the smaller amp is on the center.
Totally maxed out, I'm looking at over almost 17AMPS - of course I don't imagine I'll ever be running one of them all out, never mind all three at the same time, but I'd like to have the numbers covered just in case.
Curtis, I looked at the Xantech AC-1 but it's definitely 15A. Looks good though.
Let us know how you turn out with that Craftsman Auto Switch...pros and cons. It appears to have an integral circuit breaker so if you over do it then at least you'll know. I heard about it from a guy that uses it to turn on his sub (which doesn't have an auto on).
