You are most welcome! I think you will be fine with 25 watts of Class A amplification. Take care!

Dave,
So this next phase for the Sierra-1 that's coming in a few months how close will this new Sierra-1 performance be to the Horizon with raal?
Also when do you think you can give us all the goods on this new update?
I don't have any new information, but here is what Dave said a few months ago:

This is just my opinion (and I haven't heard the prototype Sierra-2 either), but I think the high frequency performance is where we'll have a better chance of comparison with the Towers/Horizon. Like Curtis offered, the Sierra Horizon has a dedicated midrange driver which provides more clarity, resolution, and detail in the critical mid frequencies compared to the two-way Sierra-1/NrT. I'm sure the new ribbon for the Sierra-2 will improve the midrange performance, too, but I'm quite certain it won't match what its big brothers can do.
Honestly, here's what I'm wishing for with the Sierra-2:
- Improved high-frequency response (accuracy, detail, resolution, etc.)
- Improved midrange response, but this will probably be more subtle due to the two-way design and higher mass woofer (assuming no woofer replacement)
- Retain as much of the low-frequency extension as possible, but I'm willing to negotiate here for better mids and highs.
I'm trying to stay realistic and understanding of what the smaller, two-way monitor will do compared to a full-size Tower. I'd love to buy the RAAL Towers and call it a day, but space constraints prevent me from doing so. The Sierra-1s fit perfectly on my desk and sound fantastic. If Dave can give me a bit more of the sonic goodness from the Towers, I'll be absolutely chuffed.
Awww, great...I'm getting excited again. Time to take a deep breath and recharge my patience-o-meter.
^^^ getting overly excited is not a bad thing.....acting upon that emotion is entirly another matter...lol. I'm not good at either ....I must try and wean myself off these AV forums otherwise the gears keep on turning...:D.
Re: Bill
Ouch, there's a dream crusher. My excitement just transformed into mild upgraditis.
While we're on the subject, does having a properly configured sub improve the midrange performance of the Sierra woofer or just the overall bass extension and accuracy of the whole setup?
Don't be bummed, the wait will be worth it -- I promise :)
That said, while we haven't been advertising it -- we have now shipped out quite a few Sierra-1 with the same RAAL tweeters that we use in the tower. Excellent performance, as to be expected -- but this is a fully custom product.
