Y spitter

I have an FV18 and just not enough power to fill 18x32/22-14' ceilings. Will a Y splitter make any difference on db?

Likely no unless if your avr has low voltage out - generally these are used with Yamahas but mainly to get auto on to work, as I recall. That said, cheap enough to try.

Alternately, as that’s a huge space, save up for a 2nd sub

So you're just guessing I suppose, need real info here......I know I need two subs but $2300 is a big chunk of change.

have you taken frequency response measurements to see where your issues are? How you tried putting the sub in different locations?

When you say it is not enough, how are you gauging? How loud do you listen?

Y-splitter will just increase the input gain to the subwoofer amplifier, it is the same as simply turning the volume control up higher. It will have no effect on the maximum output of the subwoofer.

doesn't hurt to try. if you open one up, make it for a couple of extra FV18's or E15HPs...maybe I'll upgrade or just move to 4 E15s :cool:
