This is probably a weird question. I have an old pair of CMT-340SE's (and a center) that I'm thinking about using in my barn.

These were my original theater speakers, and was using them in my family room TV viewing previously (replaced these with Sierra II's in my theater), but we just moved, and I don't have anywhere to use them in the house.

I could use them in my barn, but I'm concerned about operating temperatures? I don't want to damage them. The barn is insulated and has HVAC, but will primarily only run it when I know I'll be in there for an extended period of time. Midwest USA, so I'd guess 20F - 100F.

I think you'd be alright if the humidity is controlled but I'm not 100% sure.

Humidity could have an issue...really depends on how much moisture is in the air. Generally dry air is heavier and absorbs sound ...iirc....humid air does the opposite....in a barn...I'd think you'd be fine....look at car audio amps and speakers in a trunk...during the hot hazy months...

If you had paper cone woofers then it would be a real issue eventually.

I’ve had 340’s in my garage here in WI without issue. Granted, I do heat my garage on occasion but it’s really only moisture that’s harmful.
