TP-24 stands, spacer between speaker?

Looking at the product page (http://www.ascendacoustics.com/pages/products/access/spkstnds/pedstlcmt340.html), and reading from a forum search result, it looks like it's possible to add a spacer between the top of the stand and the 340. Can that be done? How much space is actually available? Asking because I want to be able to raise the tweeter height closer to my ear height.

The available space is virtually endless. Though you'll need to fab you own connector plate if more than an inch or two.
