Hello all,

I am in the process of putting together a price list for equipment as I move to outfit my garage as a home theater/ game room (400SF). The plan is to use an acoustically transparent screen with speakers behind like I did in my previous basement home theater (old house). That room had CMT-340 L/C/R speakers and 170s for the rear and side surrounds. Given I am trying to do this in a garage and on a budget, would CMB-170s be sufficient as my speakers or L/C/R and surrounds? Seating will be 14' from the screen if that helps. I just think for a basic room CMT-340s are WAY overkill for the space given there are no acoustic treatments other than a large area rug. Just trying not to break the bank. I will pair them with an Onkyo TX-SR373 receiver and an HSU VTF-1 MK3 subwoofer.

Any suggestions are welcome.

John

My sincere apologies for missing this post.

Our 170's have excellent efficiency and unless you are looking to achieve extremely loud volume levels in this room, the 170's would more than suffice ;)
