Too many mixed reviews and old threads with mounts that are no longer available. Which ones are you guys using for your 200's? mine will be attached to the studs.

I used these to mount my HTM 200's from the ceiling. I had to alter them to allow the speaker wire to pass through, but they are perfect in my application.

I am going to buy two pair of HTM-200 SE very shortly and also trying to understand mounting options. One pair will be in the kitchen at eye level, one pair will be in the livingroom on side walls just slightly behind the couch with the top about 7 ft high. I am thinking that:
- these two locations are the ideal ones
- flush mounting, or nearly so with slight downward angle, would be ideal for sound
- the easiest way I've seen is upside down with picture hanging kits, like this very well-done instruction: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/1229018-flush-mounting-ascend-htm-200-using-insert-screws.html#/topics/1229018?_k=cjktpo

Am I right on all three counts? Any tips? The only thing I'm thinking I'll need to be careful on, is popping the speaker wire through the wall at just the right point to get into the back of the speaker without impacting its ability to rest flush.

Thanks.

Tai

I'm going to be mounting HTM-200 SE on my walls, trying to stay basically flush, within the next few weeks. Then maybe I'll post pix of my system!

I think my above post about it didn't get noticed maybe... The mounting method I linked looks pretty good to me; bottom line question is, is there any reason not to put these upside down?

Thanks!

I hung HTM-200s the same way and it worked fine. Since I was in an apartment I left my speaker wire on the outside of the wall, covered it with masking tape and painted it the color of the wall. Looked good to me!

How did you mount them horizontally? The two mounting screw holes in the back of the speaker are both offset to one side

I bought these but the holes on the bracket are slightly closer together than the distance between the mounting screw holes on the HTM-200. Did you have the same issue?

Horizontally it wasn't a problem with these mounts. It took me some time to find them but I researched this mount and the bracket provided is slotted the right size so it was a good fit for the two inserts. I was concerned since the inserts are offset that it wouldn't be balanced weight wise and could sag but the mount is strong enough. I also mounted mine into a beam for extra security during heavy bass scenes. I used them with the ascend inserts and provided screws. I was also able to tilt and swivel them exactly the same, locking the hex screws securely once I got the right placement. They haven't moved at all since installation. They mirror each other with the tweeter on the bottom just like I wanted and it worked beautifully without customizing anything.

However, if you wanted to mount them vertically with this kit you will most likely need to drill the cabinet and use strong corse wood screws or customize the optional vertical bracket.

Hi , I know this is an old thread. However, can you please post a picture of the back of your speaker along with the mount. That will help in knowing how exactly you used those brackets.
