Sierra Towers too overpowering for my small media room?

My new media room will be approximately 12 feet by 15 feet. I have been using HTM-200's as my LCR in the living room for the past few years but now I finally get a dedicated media room and I would love to upgrade to the sierra tower with RAAL. The room seems pretty small however so just wondering if the sierra towers would be too overpowering? Would bookshelves work better?

How far will you be sitting from the speakers? I would try to avoid putting your main listening position right up against the back wall.

I'm concerned about sound. I was planning on having my couch against the back wall. How far from the wall should my listening position be?

Also what would be the ideal distance from the speakers? If I move my couch off the wall I would be within 10 feet (maybe a little less) from the speakers.

Ascend Towers won't overpower the room. They can be about a foot from the front wall and 6 feet apart Definitely get the couch off the back wall. A 12 X 15 foot room is close to ideal for modestly sized towers.

Have my RAAL Towers in a living room about that size. Speakers are 2' from front wall, slightly toed-in, and the listening couch is about 2' from the back wall.

Overpowering? Nah, no more than any other speaker. I can get it loud, but I honestly think these speakers excel in smaller rooms. If you're looking for detailed and quality sound, you can spend more, but I'm not sure you can do better.

My room is around 10x15 and I have no issues what so ever with my RAAL towers. I had Sierra 2's before the towers and they were good to in that room with a sub.

Check the "May I listen... in Seattle" thread. A picture there shows RAAL Towers in my smallish living room about 8-9 foot from the listening position. Works pretty well.

If you have good electronics, you should hear all frequencies' at low volume levels.

Listening 7ft. Away in A 10 x 12 room. Sounds fantastic.

Awesome, thanks for all the responses! I have decided to go with the sierra towers. Moving into the new house in a couple weeks I will try to post pictures when everything is set up.
