Ascend 340 Pedistal Stand?

Do the subject stands come in a flat pack?
Do they ever leak sand?
How much sand will they hold?

The stand comes in two pieces, not flat as the main pedistal is already put together. You just have to screw the bottom and feet on. They hold a little more than 50 lbs each of sand. I filled each of mine with a 50 lb bag with a little room to spare. The pedistal is very well made and does not leak.

I need something heavy, wish they were taller for my Sierra-2's.
Could I put a spacer between the bottom plinth and the main column?

You could put a spacer between the speaker and the main column, as the bracket behind the speaker has plenty of play. I wouldn't put it at the bottom of the main column, because I think that would shift the weight of the sand a bit too high and make it more top heavy -- potentially making it easier to knock over.
