Hi! Next week I will be getting my sierra towers. I will be using them for music reproduction.

Since it is a new setup I need recommendations for an amp.

Couple of questions:
1. Integrated or separates?
2. There are some good deals on old Rotel RMB-100 mono blocks pair for $600, also mcintosh 7100 v2 for $800 and a Linn Majik 2100 locally for $950. Does it make sense to buy old amps and a new pre? Or is it better to go with new stuff (outlaw, emotiva, rotel)?

Budget $1,000 - $1,500.

Thanks!

I drive my Sierra Towers with Emotiva XPA-1L monoblocks. I use the Emotiva XSP-1 preamp. I went with new components to get a warranty.

Emotiva is having a 10% of sale. I would check them out.

At the moment I'm using Emotiva XPA-5 g2 multi amp, but if I had your budget I would try XPA-1L mono blocks as I'm interested in 35 watt in class A, or just go the opposite direction with Digital amps, Wyre 4 sound, D-Sonic etc.

Just my two cents

I'm using a Anthem MRX 300 and it drives my speakers to the highest levels my ears can tolerate in my ~3000^3ft room without any strain.

Just my 2 cents.
