I recently purchased the Sierra 2s for L/R in my currently stereo setup. I want to upgrade to a 5 channel surround system with HTM 200SEs as surrounds and maybe the CMT 340C as a center. My original plan was to go for a Sierra 1 LCR with HTM 200se as surrounds but I decided to go for the Sierra 2s instead and am now left with not a lot of budget for my center and surrounds.

Will the CMT340 be a good match for use with the Sierra 2s? I only plan on using the 5.1 system for HT, I'll be listening to music in stereo 2.1 only. Am I better off going with a phantom center over the CMT340? My system currently consists of a Onkyo 705 receiver I'm using as a Pre/Pro along with a Emotiva UPA 2 to power the Sierra 2s, my sub is a SVS Sb12 NSD

I would try a phantom center channel and see how you like it. I don't think a 340SE would be a good match.

If your budget will not allow -- I would go with a Sierra-1 center for now, and then when your budget does allow - simply upgrade the Sierra-1 center to the Sierra-2.
