I placed an order on tower w/ribbon, just couldn't resist, ohh you guys suck! ;)

This will be my first pair of floor standing speakers. I have an area rug in the room but where the tower will go is hardwood floor, what's the best option for placement?

1. directly on hardwood floor.
2. buy two 2' by 2' carpet and place speakers on top.
3. buy two 2' by 2' by 1'' Pine or Cedar board and place felt (or some other vibration damper) on the bottom and place speakers on top.

Maybe I am thinking too much but I am very excited!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the towers ship with carpet spikes and rubber feet (pretty much all towers do). Just use the rubber feet and you are all set. If not, just get some small stick-on rubber feet from Home Depot.

I have stone floors and ended up purchasing some felt bottomed threaded stem guides from Home Depot [0][1]. I painted the grey discs black (using some enamel paint), so they didn't stand out quite as much.

I had read about the stem guides on another thread [2]. Earlier in that thread, Dave pointed out that the Towers have "1/4-20 threaded inserts" [3].

Good luck, and enjoy your new speakers. In my opinion, they are phenomenal.
