170 or 200

Which model would work best on a desk in an office setting. Can't play them loud. Will be about 4 feet apart on either side of a computer monitor and I will be 2 feet from the speakers. Could I get by with the 200's. I am assuming the sierra 1's would be overkill. Would the 200's lay on side or stand up.

Hi, 200's will work just fine in either orientation. IMO they do sound better laying horizontal.

If you have room for the 170's they would be the better speaker. They have more bass than the 200's but need some room behind them for the port to 'breathe'.
