Hi all,

I'm having some work done in our backyard and am looking for opinions on outdoor speakers. I live in Houston, so winters are mild and summers are unforgiving and humid. I will do 2 speakers mounted ~ 8' high and ~ 12' apart under and open gable roof. This will be around the main seating area where we'll spend 90% of our time.

Given it is an outdoor setup should I even be concerned about directional/stereo listening or should I be looking for the best wide-throw/dispersion option?

I've also seen a few outdoor subs. Does anyone have experience with these?

Any direction you can give me is appreciated.

Howdy neighbor. Wanting to do the same for our pool. Audio Advisor had a few Martin Logan outdoor speakers in their spring clearance catalog on page 29. http://catalog.audioadvisor.com/publication/?i=151939

When do outdoor speakers cross the line into obnoxious towards the neighbors?

Anybody have any advise?

Thanks for the catalog. I've seen recommendations for the Emotiva (http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/speakers/products/uom62) in that same price range, but was hoping to get some more info. The post I read was several years old.
