Hey guys, I've just ordered the HTM 200se 's for surround duties with the omnimount 20 wall brackets Ascend recommends for them. However, the lady at Ascend called me and told me that Omnimoint discontinued the 20's and that I would have to find another bracket to use.

Can anyone recommend wall brackets that I could use for the 200's? The lady at Ascend didnt have any good recommendations because they have been using the Omnimoint 20s for so long and they have just recently discontinued them.

My only requirement is that they keep the 200s as close to the wall as possible as the room is small and I dont want them protruding too much! Thats why I went with the 200s in the first place, as they are not as deep as the others.

By the way, I have Sierra -1 espresso fronts, and have just ordered a Sierra espresso center and the 200s to (almost) complete my 5.1 system. I love the Sierras and cant wait to get the remaining speakers! I just need to find a good subwoofer now that won't competely break the bank!

Thanks for the help!

I'm using picture hanging wire tied to the two screws on the back of the speaker. With the speaker hung on the wall that way it has a bit of an angle that I like.

That's an interesting option.. and kindof appeals to me as this would keep it the closest to the wall. Though it seems kindof unstable, especially since it would be in walk way where people would be walking by and could potentially knock into it. Do you secure it to the wall with anything else?

Anyone else have any more traditional methods/products?

My speakers are not near traffic but I still don't feel that they are unsteady. The wire between the screws is fairly taut. I also used earthquake picture hooks.

I just ordered these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X9O8SI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll be using them with the 170's for rear surround duty. If you are interested I can let you know how they are to install.

Nate, thanks for posting the pictures (sorry for late reply). How did you tie the picture hanging wire to the screws?

It's been awhile but I think I did a couple of wraps around the screw and then twisted the wires together. I think there are instructions on the package. Let me try this link thing again :)

My speakers will be delivered today (170's for rear surrounds) and when I get a chance to figure out the best height and location I'll let you know. I'll probably snap a few pictures too just to show how it goes.

Received the 170's on Friday, got around to putting up the wall mounts this morning. One I was lucky enough to get a stud slightly off center (short wall next to slider). The other wall I had to use toggle bolts as there was no stud where I had to mount it.

The installation is pretty easy and straight forward. I marked my top height on the wall, plumbed the mount and marked my holes. Using the supplied screws and my battery drill it went smoothly. I repeated the process for the other speaker with the toggle bolts and they hold wonderfully. First picture is mounted to a stud

Im happy with the results, a good solution and they were inexpensive wall mounts. I paid $35 for the mounts through Amazon.

I can try to upload pics if you are interested.

Yeah pictures would be great. I'd like to see how far they stick out from the wall, this is my determining factor on how to mount these bad boys.

Nate, did you hang the speakers upside down? The only screws on the back are on the bottom, other than the four that are around the binding posts. It looks like your speakers are hung at the top

Not upside down. They can be mounted either way. The grill can be switched.

Tweeter position defines how the speaker is oriented, not the grille.

I just took a quick measurement and from the wall to the front of the side clamp (that is the farthest point from the wall) it is 10.25 inches. From the wall to the front of the 170 grille is 12 inches. I will put up pictures when I get home from work.

Tweeter is in the middle. I positioned mine so the tweeters are both closer to the back wall.

Hey thanks for the pictures. That looks pretty good with those mounting brackets. It doesn't stick out as far as I thought they might. I might have to take mine of my picture hangers and mount them on the mounts I ordered :). Thanks again.
