Hi all -

I was wanting to get fellow Ascend owners' opinion (specifically Sierra 1 owners) thoughts on placement of their speakers. For my particular HT room, I would only be able to locate the speakers 12 inches from the back wall & 10 inches from the side wall. My concern is the fact that the Sierra 1s are back ported. I'm thinking of pairing these Sierra 1s with the Sierra Horizon Center since I want the BEST center on the market ;) (My usage is pretty much only HT with music being from Blu-Ray concerts). How flexible is the Sierra 1s with placements (especially since the Sierra 1 that will be on the right side of our PJ screen will be beside a brick wall).

I have even considered the HTM200 SE for the front soundstage with the Sierra Horizon Center, but I know that the Sierra 1s are on a different level and the whole 'upgrade-itis bug' may hit me if I went that route (but if it is more practical because of speaker placement issues, that may be the only solutions). Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Pics below. ;)

Pic of Left side of Wall (Actually, we are having our contractor put up a wall (sheetrock, stud joints, etc) over the windows on the back wall where my 'make-shift' PJ screen is located now. :D):

The dimensions of the room are length: 11.4ft & width: 9.3ft (& cathedral ceiling).

I think the Sierra-1's would be fine in your room. The Q-Plugs would probably help. You can research them here: http://forum.ascendacoustics.com/showthread.php?3784-Announcement-A-Sierra-1-add-on-enhancement!

@natetg -

Thanks for the info. I've looked at this option (advised as well by Jacob in my other thread).

Would CMT 340SEs work in this room as well since it is back-ported as well? Would the Q-Plugs work for the CMT 340SEs?

I don't know about plugging 340's. I would recommend cutting off frequencies below 60 or 80hrtz, using a sub and installing some kind of sound dampening panels. I have Sierra-1's across the front of my room with about 14" of clearance behind them. they sound great!
