I have found threads were others have placed 340's and Sierra 1's above the monitor, but not as yet the Horizon Center. It looks like various TV wall mounts will support up to 100 Lbs. so the weight is not a problem.

My basic problem is a custom built stereo cabinet that has a center channel opening of 7.5" H x 21" W. This is way too small for any higher quality center channel.

If I bridge the center with a support, or place the monitor on the speaker, the center of the monitor will be far above the ideal viewing height. I could also "Adapt" the cabinet for a monitor support, but these are $300-$600 solutions.

My wife does not like the look of a wall mounted monitor, but thought the 11" x 23" Horizon looked better above the TV!

Sanus has a CRT TV mount that supports up to 100 lbs. and mounts directly to a wall stud http://www.sanus.com/us/en/products/visionmount/other/VMTV. This may look a little strange from the side, but would look nice from the front.

Comments, suggestions and solutions are welcome!

Hi Kefman,

I have my Horizon placed on stands above the PC monitor. Most speaker stands are 45" height or less, but I found some that expand above that. Currently, my Horizon rests 52" above the floor. However, due to its height and the small size of my room, I have the speaker angled downwards by 8 degrees via Auralex MoPads (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MoPAD) to get the listening position on-axis.

This is the only way I can use the Horizon in my office. Any other way involves unacceptable compromises.

For reference, the monitor is 24" and has a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Thanks for the tip Dark Ranger. Sweetwater also has the On-Stage Stands that reach a maximum of 59" which would be more than sufficient for my speaker placement. This would keep the holes out of the wall. Great Idea. MoPads are great too.

What a Center Channel for the office !!!!

Don't have to comb your hair much as it is always straight back from SPL.....

NICE!

As it turns out, the 59" On-Stage Stands are exactly the ones I bought from Sweetwater (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MonitorStd). :D

I agree that it's a monster center speaker for an office. That room has to be an office, workbench, and a home theater. It's the room that works hard and plays hard!

Oh, I'll let you in on a secret about my hair: I wear a modified "high and tight" so there is nothing to recomb when the SPL reaches triple digits.

Good luck on the build!
