One of my CMT-340 SE Main speakers has had a cat scratch its surround, so I am wondering if this causes the sound to be different.

Could I use a certain glue, such as rubber cement, to repair the damaged speaker's surround, and would that be a strong, flexible enough glue so that it would last for years?

How do I contact Ascend Acoustics for a repair, and could I do the repair by myself? I have a CMT-340 SE Center that has no use, so I could swap their cones. Is the swapping of their cones possible?

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the damage. I would advise against using any type of glue on the surround unless directed. The woofer replacement from your spare should be doable, but definitely contact Ascend first before attempting the switch.

You can also call the number listed on that page. They are busy folks, but will definitely get back with you as soon as they can. Also, I'd recommend snapping a picture or two of the damage for Ascend to analyze.
