I am thinking about evolving my current 5.1 system into a 7.1 system using Audyssey's DSX or DTS: Neo with Heights. I haven't seen a lot on this board on using multi-speaker configurations with Ascend products. What I am thinking is

LCR - Sierra 1's
L/R Heights - CMB 170's
L/R Rears HTM-200's.

Has anyone tried this? Also, based on my cursory review of Audyssey and DTS, they have different positions for the "height" speakers. I wonder if there is a fudge factor where I can place the heights.

Thanks!

Oops, I mistyped. I may run the following:

LCR - Sierra 1's
L/R Heights - HTM-200's
L/R Rears CMB 170's.

Has anyone tried this? Or any other configuration for a 7.1 system?

Thanks

I'm running LCR - SIerra1
LR surround - HTM-200
Rear Surround - HTM-200.

I thought about running height or side speakers with Odessey, but quickly gave up the idea after looking at my room layout :-)

HTM-200 works great for me for surrounds and rear...

I have:

LCR Sierra-1's
LR surround - HTM-200
Front Heights HTM-200

I bounce back and forth between DSX and PLIIZ for the heights. I hear the sound, but cant decide which of the two sounds the best. I'm using a Denon 4310 for the receiver. I think I have a pic or 2 in the gallery from some time ago.

pshhhhh...

I'm going to go hardcore and go Sierra-1s all the way around ^_^. Though it will probably be like 1-2 years before I get all of them... have 2 now, will likely add the center in a few months and then the rears a few months later... (Likely with some power amps in the middle there)

I was thinking about getting Sierra's all around, but I already have the 170's and the HTM200's, so all I need are 3 Sierras. Plus, I need to get a new Panny VT30 and the Onkyo 3009 (if it ever comes out!). Not to mention, I should also get a new subwoofer.....
