I'd like to say I'll pulled a Marty McFly and cranked up the 'overdrive' too high, but it only fell and landed on something NOT soft.

I guess the best thing to do is call support Monday morning.

All the basket posts completely snapped and the driver tore away from the cone and thudded to the interior bottom of the speaker. The spider still vibrates, but no cone = no sound.

I haven't fired it up. I suppose I should make sure the tweeter still functions. :o

Edit: The tweeter appears to be fine. So looks like I just need a new woof and I'm back in business.

No worries. I'm confident Ascend will get me up and running again with a new driver. One thing is for certain... everything else with the 170 DOES appear to be bulletproof.
