So I really want to wall mount my 170s, right now they are on stands, the SP-30 ones sold here actually. But they look a little out of place in my room and the speakers are two close together and I would like to get more separation and that would come with wall mounting them. This is for my two fronts for right now BTW. But i really cannot bit the near $100 cost of the Omni Mounts sold here so I was browsing my favorite site Monoprice and found a set that looks like it should work for $10 a pair...

Says they hold 33 Lbs, made out of metal ect. as they also have even cheaper ones but those are plastic and only rated to hold 10 Lbs max and the 170s are 15 so that is pushing them well over the limit. But these $10 ones look find to me, I am just not sure if the spacing of the screws on the back that it will mount to is a standard length apart, kind of like if it is vesa 75 x 75 or 100 x 100mm. Anyway please let me know if you think these would work fine, Oh at this price I also don't mind trimming them a little or drilling extra holes if I have to in order for them to line up correctly on the back of the speaker.

Having used other speaker wall mounts, including Omni, I highly recommend using Pinpoint AM-40. No extra drilling required and the clamping mechanism will hold the speakers without securing with screws.

Those wall mounts seem sturdy enough to me. Seeing as they are rated for 33 pounds I think you will be fine using those. It would be nice if they let you adjust them from left to right in the case you would want to have them toed in slightly. But for $10.00 who cares. Post some pictures when you are finished getting the speakers mounted on the wall.

It looks like these have been renamed to Pinpoint AM-40, the ones StevenSctt so kindly linked to.

I'm including a link to a thread Gov and others participated in, that has a lot of good information on these mounts, and pictures of them in my Home Theater holding up CMT-340SEs, so you know they can hold the 170s with no sweat. In fact, it looks like all this Pinpoint stuff is just renamed versions of the old B-Tech mounts... which means it's awesome. IMHO, these mounts BLOW AWAY the commonly available Omnimounts. I'm using the AM30s to hold up my HTM-200s and I wasn't able to find anything even close to their quality at that size... sort of like the HTM-200s themselves!
