I am connecting solid copper wire to my Sierra's. Wondering if I should/could use a nut driver to tightly compress the wire in the 5-way binding post. I saw somewhere that 5-way binding post's are designed to be used this way. Any experience?

The posts on the Sierra's are not designed for using tools on them. They are cylindrical, or even conical in shape, and that part is made of a plastic material. The actual hex shaped nut/fastener is embedded in this and is not accessible. They should only be hand-tightend or you could damage them.

Have you considered terminating the speaker wire with bananas or spades?

Mag is correct. I only recommend finger tightening the binding posts down.
