Not meant to be an insult of these wonderful speakers - a compliment actually.
I was playing some older vinyl last night and I came across what was once one of my favorite recordings of The Firebird. Wow! The highs were like fingernails across a blackboard. It was unlistenable. The upper frequencies were raspy and the instruments were all lost in the grunge. This disk once sounded fine on my old AR9s but the Sierras wouldn't let the sound engineers get away with it. They glaringly exposed all of the disks flaws.
Hmmmm....I suppose my Sierras are helping me by weeding out many poorly engineered recordings I once enjoyed.
On the other hand, they bring well-engineered recordings to glorious life, and that's what it's all about.
