For all ASCEND 9.1(2) set-up fans, please look at the following:

1) CMT-340 SE package:

Fronts: CMT340SE L/R (on pedestal),
CMT 340 SE Center,
HTM 200SE surround back (on wall)

Rears: CBM 170 SE L/R (on pedestal),
HTM 200SE surround back (on wall)

Subs: 1 0r 2 Rythmiks F12 or
1 Rythmik D-15 SE

2) CMT 340 package with modification:

Fronts: CMT 340 SE or SIETRRA-1 L /R (on pedestal),
CMT 340 SE Center
HTM 200SE surround high front wall

Rears SIERRA-1 on pedestals
HTM 200SE surround back (on wall)

Subs: 1 Rythmik D-15SE

In other words, all speakers:

a) CMT series or
b) mix

Questions:
1) Which configuration makes more sense to you?

2) Mixing CMT 340SE with SIERRAS will have any negative impact sonically speaking? Shall the center be CMT 340 or other SIERRA?

3) On the website, SIERRAS are pictured on a nice light oak pedestal which is not offered in Accessories section. Does anybody know where and for how much to get it?

4) For both configurations: would be one SVS SB 12 Plus, Velodyne Optimum 12 or HSU VTF 3 Mk 3 sub better deal? Or Rythmik direct Servo technology is perfectly matched for CMT/Sierra’s timbre? Would the sound be better if both front and rear speakers are connected as a bi-wearable?
5) On the website, it says the CBM 170 SE have 5-way gold plated binding posts. Picture on the back panel shows only 2.What gives?

Above mentioned systems will be powered by 9.2 ONKYO TX-NR 3007 receivers. I hope this is a great match for the whole 9.1(2) set up. Now, if we use only front speakers (+ sub) and a turntable (Projekt III) for stereo, an addition of tube amp like Jolida 102B (or 202B) or CAYIN A50-T would be a valuable asset, too? How do you connect then Onkyo receiver, turntable, and speakers and sub to tube amp just to listen to stereo without constant connecting/disconnecting units on the back? Should a speaker switch (Niles DPS-1, Russound AB-3.3, SS-1.2) be used instead? Again, how do you connect everything together?

Last question: (NEVER found an answer on the web):

Can 2 (or 4) wires from 1 or 2 pairs of back speakers (floor and wall) run TOGETHER side by side up to the front receiver, in a special hard plastic tunnel and NOT to induct ANY interference or hum? Please let me know what you think about it all.

Hi Georgee,

I believe we might have discussed most of this by email.

In your two possibilities, I would recommend matching the center with the mains. If you decide on 340 SE mains, go with the 340 SE center. If you go with Sierra-1 mains, go with the Sierra-1 center.

3) On the website, SIERRAS are pictured on a nice light oak pedestal which is not offered in Accessories section. Does anybody know where and for how much to get it?

That stand was from Studiotech. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued :(

All are nice subwoofers but they all do sound a bit different. If you decide on Sierra's -- definitely go with Rythmik. It offers the best sonic match and best sound quality.

5) On the website, it says the CBM 170 SE have 5-way gold plated binding posts. Picture on the back panel shows only 2.What gives?

5-way binding post means that you can connect speaker cable to the binding posts in 5 different methods.

Yes -- speaker cables conduct high level signals -- (higher voltage) and can be run right next to each without fear of interference.

Hope this helps!
