AV123 x-statik vs. 340SE

I'm interested if anyone has heard both of these speakers and what there impressions of them were compared to each other. I own 340SEs and they are supurb, but lately I have been getting the urge to upgrade. I'm considering Sierras (which I have heard and really like), x-statiks (haven't heard), Emotiva 8.3 (haven't heard) and salk songtowers (haven't heard). I have a 15 x 24ft dedicated theater room. Usage is 50/50 movie & music. It will be combined with Emotiva LPA-1 & (UMC-1 shortly) but right now I have a pany SA-xr55. I also run an MFW-15 sub. Thanks in advance!

have never heard the x-statik, but it is a very different design and more dependent on placement because of it.

I have only heard the 340se's of all that you have mentioned so I'm no help there but I will say this...If you want to upgrade then upgrade. Don't make lateral moves and expect great things. It's the mistake I see more often than not on these forums. If you didn't care for the 340's then a lateral move might make sense, but you do like your 340's so don't just change for change sake.

i agree, an upgrade to a similar product would need much more reasoning than just an 'itch'... maybe the other speaker is more aesthetically pleasing, etc. but if the products are similar in sound production, i'd totally save up and not waste money. if you want, sell me one of your 340se's and use that towards some Sierras! now that's an upgrade.
