I now have 5 Sierra 1s that are the Dark Cherry Gloss finish. I am wanting to get speaker stands for these, but the TP-30 stands I think would not look well with the different finishes. Even if it was in a gloss finish it would be better than the rough black finish. Does anyone have any suggestions for speaker stands that either match the Dark Cherry Gloss Sierras or stands that just look good with the speakers?

I have personally found that a piano black stand looks very nice against the glossy dark cherry, it provides excellent contrast. Another option, and one that I am using is the SP-30 stands found on our website. These offer a much more subtle look and bring focus towards the speaker.

I am sure our customers will have many more recommendations as well.

Thanks davef.

I'm in the market for stands for Sierras and wanted to know what ya'll think about my short-list?

My ear level (based on my seating position) is at 30" height so I'm thinking 24" stands would be more appropriate to get the tweeter to my ear-level: 24" + height of the Sierras). Is this correct???

Here's my short-list:

1) Affiniti II Piano Black (** piano black **)

2) Bell'O 24" Black Finish Speaker Stands SP-224 (** great looks **)

3) Wood Technology 24.5 inch Speaker Stands WC-24.5 (** cheap **)

4) SP-24 (24" version of the SP-30 sold by Ascend)

*EDIT*
5) VTI DF series 24" stands

Thanks in advance and have a great holiday weekend!!!

I have the Affiniti stand listed in the previous post, and these are a very high quality stand. I filled all 4 post with sand, and find them to be nice and solid. I bought them because they had the Piano Black finish and my Sierra-1s are Piano Black. :)

Thanks for the reply Mr. Lawrence. Are those sand-fillable stands?

Thanks for the reply Mr. Lawrence. Are those sand-fillable stands?

Yes. The stands come packaged unassembled. Before I installed the tops, I filled the columns with sand. I think it took me a little less than an hour to get the sand poured and compacted into all 4 columns.

I like them because they have minimal profile and the gloss finish.

Oh thanks! :) Not bad! Not bad! I'd have expected the stands to be a bit bigger than that, but yep, clean look! Crazy how small those stands look when compared Sierras on the 340SE stands!

I think 26" stands seem to be a good hieght for the Sierras. This seems to put the tweeter at ear-level for my seating (though perhaps they are a bit lower than average - not too sure).

Also, I'm using some white "blu-tack" type adhesive to attach the Sierras to my 26" Sanus stands as many others do. It's cheap, and seems to do a decent job of coupling them to the stands. The main reason I'm using this is because it seems to be one of the only materials I can find that has decent adhesive properties so I'm not too afraid of the speakers falling off while being easily removable without damaging the gloss finish. I also use this material to couple the stands to the hardwood floor.

What do others use to attach their Sierras to their stands?

Getting the tweeters to ear height is optimum.

Myself, I have them on 31" stands, which puts the tweeters about 5-6" above my ear level, and I can't really detect a difference. I have them at that height because I need the speakers to clear an armrest of a sofa.
