50 foot speaker wire run to Sierra's?

If possible, what guage of wire is suggested for a 50 foot run?
Will there be an SQ loss that can be heard by the ear?

I typically run 12 gauge, but I was lazy when I moved and am running 18 @ 20 ft, there is no sound difference that I have noticed; but I feel more comfortable with the 12 gauge (especially since it is rated for in-wall use and I find comfort in that safety factor haha)

I would go with 12 or 14
