anyone driving Sierras with the amplified Sonos unit? The specs state 55 watts into 8 Ohms.

I remember trying it in comparison to my XR-55. It sounded basically identical. I wouldn't hesitate to use it as long as you arent trying to drive them very loud in a large room.

I am not looking for reference levels just normal listening. I'm debating using a Sonos ZP120 and a pair of Sierra-1 in my living room. A one box solution if you will.

I think it should work fine.

In the future, I am thinking of using a ZP120 with a pair of CBM-170SE's or HTM-200SE's and a subwoofer for a bedroom system.

Little late to the game here, but I ran some CBM-170SE's off of an amplified Sonos unit (the older ZP100 I believe) for about a month. It sounded awesome.

Ended up returning the Sonos system, too pricey for my blood at the time. However, it was a simple, versatile setup and a great match to the Sierra's, so I might pick up a ZP120 and use the iPhone app down the road.

I'm running ZP120's + HTM 200 SE's in our kitchen and upstairs rooms. They definitely don't compare to the Sierra 1's in the home theater room but they do sound good. Sierra 1's in general listening areas where the sound quality can't be appreciated was overkill to me.

I LOVE Sonos with the new remote and iPhone app by the way. With a ZP100 hooked up to the home theater driving the Sierra 1's the "flipping through my music collection" experience can't be beat.

I've got a new Sonos system which I am loving. I am impressed with a paired set of S5's, and am also considering some Sierra-1 NrTs (I'd still keep the S5s). Does anyone have experience with the Sierra-1s vs. a paired S5 combo? Thanks!
