You would think they would have more pics of it on their website. They also run about double the cost of the Sierra's. Would be an interesting comparison though.

I came VERY close to FINALLY buying a pair of Sierra-1's with the introduction of the new finishes, but got a great deal on a pair of B-Stock Sapphire XL's that I couldn't refuse. EVERY speaker I have EVER heard with Scanspeak Revelator drivers was truly amazing so I couldn't resist. I will do the 30 day trial and if I am not blown away I will give the Sierra-1 a try. I wish I could afford to audition them both at the same time.

Any Sierra-1 owners in the Washington DC area?

I do.

Hey, I just received a pair of ACI Sapphire XLs would you be interested in getting together for a Demo? I would love to audition both pair in the same room so I can make sure I am making the right decision.

Yes that would be awesome. My system is set up for two channel (fairly high-end stuff) and I live in Woodbridge, VA. My name is John and my email is: alphanumericus (at) verizon.net.

Hi all :)

John, I would suggest you edit your post and "disguise" your email address.

Something like "alphanumericus (at) verizon . net" would make it harder for spammers to get your address using bots. ;)

Not yet. But soon hopefully. :)

Reading the reviews I suspect they will be pretty comparable, but you never know.

Looks like Thomas and I got together today for the shootout. As far as looks I'd say the Sierra's are a much prettier speaker. I would have liked the Sapphires in arctic white but apparently they are not avaible anymore.

In the relevant sound department both speakers sound very good. The Sapphires have a slight nod with tighter bass, stellar mids while the Sierras have a bit more detailed highs.

I'n my opinion in overall marks the Sapphires edge out the Sierras but only slightly, and one has to take in account that the ACI's are double in price. In that range the competition opens up quite a bit. Much thanks to Thomas for the in-home demo. :)

What was your painfully honest opinion of the SQ comparison on both speakers?

We all realize the price difference. So I do not think you will hurt anyones pride.

I own lots of speakers, and my Sierra's-1 hold their own at moderate to semi loud levels.
I will probably buy more for 5.1 sound in my office. Hoping for a sale....?
